Day 29:

163.0 today. It’s ridiculous to watch the bouncing on the scale. I’ll be glad to be done with it again at the end of this month. I guess I could be done with it now, but I made a plan and I’m freakishly concerned with sticking to it.

So, the running thing? This week is a “down week.” We’re supposed to be completely resetting. Last night was technically a rest night (which is good, I guess, since that’s what I did). Tonight’s plan (for 5k people – me) was 30 minutes of cross training. The half and marathon people had a few miles to run so the group still met tonight – and I could have done my cross training thing while they did that (since we meet at a gym) – but I chose to go to my own gym with Jon. Tomorrow and Thursday are rest nights. Friday is the same as tonight for me (30 minutes of cross training). There’s a pretty easy run on Saturday morning. Sunday is another rest day. So – simple week. Apparently we do 3 hard, 1 simple throughout this program.

I’m actually kind of missing it tonight. I seem to have a lot of energy lately. I don’t particularly enjoy the elliptical – but it was something.

A couple of the coaches of this running program I’m doing are professional runners. Got an email that said this: “Coach Sarah opened up her 2013 Professional Indoor Track Season this past Saturday with a win in the New Balance Games Elite Mile in New York City. She ran a 4:31 mile and lead wire to wire, holding off 2012 Olympian Nicole S. of Canada in the last lap.”

I seriously could NOT believe someone could run a mile in 4:31 until I watched the video.

There’s no chance of me ever doing something like that, but it’s still inspiring to see.
