I am officially obsessed with the Fitbit.

I might have a little bit of a problem, in general, though.

I went “jogging” the other night with a friend who’s doing the C25K program I’ve failed about 10 times and realized I was wearing the Fitbit, a heart rate monitor AND I mapped it via mapmyrun.

Seriously, though – I CAN TRACK MY SLEEP NOW.

I’m a little surprised at what I’ve been finding. Last night was somewhat abnormal because I woke up a couple of times because of freak dreams – and I went to bed later than usual because it was a wild and crazy Friday night – but I generally move/wake up throughout each night WAY more than I realized.

I’ve been doing my best to earn the dang badges – including doing some laps around the house one night to break 10,000 steps. I’m not as successful at consistently hitting 10,000 as I thought I’d be, though.

Going to the gym helps, obv.

I tried to figure out a way to rig up a baggie so I could wear it in the shower – but I got a hold of myself.

I turned 32 today.

Definitely can’t complain about where I am right now. I say this all the time, but it’s true: I love my life. I am incredibly lucky.

Fantastic partner/best friend. Job I love that has drastically improved the quality of my life (by giving me approximately 12 hours of my life back each week with its lack of commute and 37.5 hour work week). Jon doesn’t have cancer. I don’t have a stomachache every minute of every day. Our families are well.

Life is good.

Jon made an early reservation for us at a French restaurant last night to celebrate – so we did that – and then we did our weekly grocery shopping at our various stores. Perfect low-key/quality-time-together type of night.

Today, we went to the gym bright and early, as usual. My little brother wanted to go to breakfast to celebrate my birthday since he works an overnight shift and is just getting home when we get up – so I forced him to work out with me, too. I almost never see him these days because of the work schedule conflict, so it was nice to spend the hour talking/catching up vs. zoning out to infomercials on the gym TVs.

My breakfast dates:

I took a really big (stomach) risk and tried sausage + fried eggs for the first time in a long time with this “Frog in a Ditch.”

Jon’s choice = a scrambled jumble of eggs, onions, peppers, cheese:

I skipped lunch because I was a little uncomfortable after this meal – and because I took a late afternoon nap. An honest-to-god sound asleep + blanket & pillow nap. I never do that.

I was hungry later, but didn’t want to go anywhere, so Jon picked up takeout.

(Guess who ate what. And who picked out the corn.)

I had a (carrot) cake waiting for me when I got home from work on Friday – so that happened today, too.

Best cake I have ever had. No doubt.

Jon wouldn’t take a bite. Freak.

The bakery gave him a cupcake sample, but he wouldn’t eat that, either.

Oh! AND! My dad & step-mother had an edible arrangement delivered yesterday, too.

Pineapple!

I’m sugared out tonight.
