Belgium. Finally.

Like I said before, we drove across the country to Bruges (Or – Brugge).

Untitled

Got there. Ate dinner. Crashed in our little room.

Untitled

The next day was all about sightseeing.

After breakfast + showers, anyway.

Untitled

I really don’t even know what we saw. It’s a very touristy town so we could’ve easily found a tour, but we just wandered around.

Untitled

We never really ate lunch. Just had snacks (junk) instead.

First stop was a small place where we had planned to get water – and wound up with this stuff:

Untitled

I ate nothing but fries dipped in mayo for every lunch throughout high school so the mayo thing they do wasn’t a huge stretch for me.

(Couldn’t do it, though, because of the stomach drama.)

Untitled

We were halfway done before I noticed what was going on behind Jon.

Untitled

Untitled

At some point, we took a tour of a brewery.

Untitled

Untitled

We climbed about a million stairs to the top – but the view was nice.

Untitled

Untitled

Had to climb down, of course …

Untitled

No way this would have happened 110 pounds ago.

Untitled

Untitled

There’s some sort of legend about these. IDK. I avoided them because I’m not a fan.

Untitled

We had another snack/more junk at a cute tea shop.

Untitled

Took a boat tour.

Untitled

Untitled

Untitled

Then hit up the chocolate shops.

Untitled

Untitled

This was my favorite.

Untitled

Nice shop. Nice people. Good chocolate.

Untitled

Untitled

Wish I still had some.

Untitled

Lots and lots of walking happened …

Untitled

Untitled

Untitled

Dinner was pretty simple.

Untitled

Ate at a touristy place recommended in a book.

Untitled

We had to leave the next day, so we ate just about the same breakfast we’d eaten the morning before …

Untitled

Untitled

… then headed out.

Untitled

Like I said before, our car was in a garage somewhere … so we attempted to retrace the steps we had taken – again with no map because we are idiots.

Untitled

It was a little easier this time since we were more familiar after having walked all over creation the day before.

The bad news? Dead battery. We had left an interior light on when we’d left the car a couple of days prior.

We wound up having to walk back to the hotel to have them help us figure out how to contact the rental agency.

Then waited for someone to rescue us.

Untitled

Didn’t take too long.

Untitled

I still have no idea who this guy or where he came from, but I assume it was a AAA-like situation.

Untitled

Once that was over, we headed out toward Amsterdam.

We found ourselves driving through some tiny beach-looking towns, so we stopped on the side of a highway and checked it out.

Untitled

Untitled

I have no idea where we were. Somewhere in Belgium looking at the North Sea.

Untitled

Untitled

Untitled

Untitled

It was beautiful.

Untitled

We hit tons of traffic once we were out of the beach areas …

Untitled

… so I ate chocolate.

Untitled

And then subsequently slept the rest of the way in a sugar coma.

Next up: Amsterdam.
