Ok, so I’m not back to consistent “normalcy” just yet.

My dad told us about an episode of Diners, Drive-ins & Dives that featured this place … so we watched it on Saturday … and then had to go before leaving Ann Arbor.

I had a double on pumpernickel with blue cheese, mayo, tomato, lettuce, onions + pickles.

Plus onion rings.

He ate the bun.

And then tried to convince me that he needed to stop and get a beer – at 11:30am on a Monday – just because his belly was already full of gluten.

(This is the first gluten he’s had in a long time. His antibody test was negative so the gastro doctor mentioned that he might want to go BACK to gluten so the new TN doctor can retest after we’ve moved since he had cut the gluten a few weeks/a month prior to the testing and likely skewed the results. He was planning to wait until our upcoming trip to Ireland to do this experiment so he could drink without guilt – but I guess it is better to do it now and potentially feel like shit here vs. there.)

My mom’s:

We went right when they opened specifically so we wouldn’t have to wait in a crazy line. I wasn’t sure it would be worth the wait/crowd – and it really wasn’t – so I’m glad we went early enough and avoided it.

Good, though. Definitely a fun way to end our time in A2.

I woke up this morning with great motivation to go home, so we rescheduled the truck and shifted some things around and we’re leaving. Very soon.

I haven’t packed one thing – so I’m probably totally nuts for doing this – but I guess it keeps life exciting.
