I’m not sure what was going on this morning since I’m seemingly starving ALL. THE. TIME. lately, but I didn’t feel like eating. So I didn’t. This is probably the first time in at least a year that I haven’t had breakfast. Strange. I finally ate something around 11 when I noticed that I felt shaky (although that admittedly could have been from the 3 cups of coffee I’d had). Quick and simple, of course: salad w/greens, sprouts, tomatoes, bell pepper strips, carrots, broccoli, cucumber and 1T of Rosemary Lemon dressing (that is SO good I licked the tablespoon), jalapeno cheddar chicken sausage, celery stick w/natural PB.

Salads are so simple and easy to throw together when a little prep has been done beforehand. I chop everything when I get home with it and store in ways that reduces salad prep to about a minute for me. Ultimate convenience food!

I went to the gym and did the C25K thing, spent some time on the stairmaster, did some crunches and stretched for a while. I ate a few almonds on the way. The ibuprofen was an anticipatory tactic for the heel pain I still have. 20 minutes of running/walking almost killed me and has left me hobbling despite the ibuprofen, stretching and new shoes. Looks like I’m going to have to make an appointment with a podiatrist and actually keep it this time.

My snack this afternoon was pretty simple.

I honestly have no idea how I’m doing calorie-wise, but I’m not going to worry about it for now. I think I’m ok.

Not eating processed/refined carbs is hard after the vacation free-for-all. Almost all carbs I’m eating are coming from vegetables, fruits, beans and nuts and it’s kind of a bitch. I’m going through some sort of withdrawal … I would kill for a brownie right about now. Or a bowl of cereal. Or even a gd Odwalla bar. I should have appreciated that half a box of cookies I ate last week a little more because I MISS IT.
