Jon

  • Almost 42.
  • Job that requires either a lot of sitting or a lot of of traveling.
  • 4 great kids (previous marriage).

After many years of sedentary living, I found myself weighing 256 pounds at the beginning of 2008. My fitness level was horrible. For a guy who used to love running and hiking, it was a sad thing to find myself getting winded walking up a few flights of stairs. When I went to the doctor for a physical, he told me I was fat. I realized I’d better change my life, or it would probably be a short-lived one.

Sarah and I made a commitment to try and lose weight in 2008 and we feel like we’ve been quite successful. I weighed in at 199 pounds on January 1, 2009, with my pants going from a 38 waist to a 34. 2010 started at 192.

I’ve become much more aware of the importance of healthy living and fitness throughout the past few years.

Achieving optimal fitness will be my focus for the coming year. I’ve come a long way, but I’m not done. Sarah and I will be doing it together, and we’re happy to have you share in our journey!

Jon, you look great! I’m inspired just seeing y’all’s journey in this. I’m hoping our new Wii Fit will inspire me, too. 42 isn’t too kind to the ol’ bod, ya know! Press on! You too, Sarah!

Jon, just wanted to say how impressive your transformation has been and I can’t wait to see your body composition continue to change. Who says you can’t be fit and have abs in your 40s!

Looking forward to seeing you at CrossFit Ktown,
    -Coach Miss J

Thanks, Jessie! I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to actually see those abs, but I’ll keep working hard to develop ‘em!
